46  | 洪武九年正月丁巳，太子諸王侍，太祖顧謂之曰：「汝等聞修德進賢之道乎？」太子對曰：「每聞儒臣講說，知其略矣，未領其要。」太祖曰：「藻率雜佩為身之容，恭遜溫良為德之容，見於外者，可以知其內也。古之君子，趨蹌有節，升降有數，周旋跬步而不違於矩矱者，由其德充於內而著乎外也。所以器識高明，而善道日躋，惡行不見而邪僻益遠。己德既修，自然足以服人，賢者匯進而不肖者自去。能修德進賢，則天下國家未有不治。不知務此者，鮮不取敗。夫貨財聲色為戕德之斧斤，讒佞諂諛乃杜賢之荊棘，當拒之如虎狼，避之如蛇虺。茍溺於所好，則必為其陷矣。汝等其慎之。」 |
