57  | 洪武四年二月癸巳，淮安、寧國、揚州、臺州府并澤州各獻瑞麥共二十本，群臣皆賀。太祖曰：「朕為民主，惟思修德致和，以契天地之心，使三光平，寒暑時，五穀熟，人民育，為國家之瑞。蓋國家之瑞，不以物為瑞也。昔堯舜之世，不見祥瑞，曾何損於聖德？漢武帝獲一角獸，產九莖芝，當時皆以為瑞，乃不能謙抑自損，撫輯民庶，以安區宇，好功生事，卒使國內空虛，民力困竭，後雖追悔，已無及矣。其後神爵、甘露之侈，致山崩地震，而漢德于是乎衰。由是觀之，嘉祥無征而災異有驗，可不戒哉！」 |
