12  | 萬元吉，字吉人，江西南昌人，天啟乙丑進士。崇禎中，監大學士楊嗣昌軍，扼夔門，與石柱女帥秦良玉合兵擊賊。招降關索，惠登相、王光思有功。會嗣昌敗，薄其賞，稍遷大理評事。李自成陷西安，上命大學士吳甡出師，以元吉充軍前贊畫。尋召還甡，不果行。元吉在軍中久，曉練兵事，諾宿將左良玉、金聲桓等皆憚之。元吉亦見天下壞，矢報國。 |
