14  | 初，天智疾甚，欲傳位於同母弟大海人。大友時為大政大臣，期自立，令以疾辭。大海人即於省中佛殿剃髮為僧，入葛野。及即位，大海人舉兵叛。帝屢戰不克，遂敗死，在位僅九月。明治三年追贈為弘文天皇。大海人自立，是為天武天皇。諱天淳中原瀛真人，名大海人。好佛敬神，建占星臺，置兵政司，行大射禮，詔諸國習陣法，定律令式，撰帝紀及上古遺事，鑄銀錢，定服色，定禁式九十二章，定臣民氏族為八等，更爵位號，增加階級，定諸臣子弟及蕃人任進格數，免百姓課役，禮儀法制，彬彬大備。在位十七年。改元二：曰白鳳，曰朱鳥。 |
