9  | 十一月，起大學士孫承宗以原官，兼兵部尚書，督兵駐通州。十五日，抵近郊，召見平臺面陳方略，奏保總兵馬世龍出獄效用。上允奏，賜茶入謝。上曰：「卿不須往通，勞卿為朕調護京城。」承旨而出，已漏下二十刻矣。周閱都城四十五里，五鼓而畢。閱重城，乘月而巡濠塹險阻。夜半，內閣傳奉聖旨：「卿等，諭輔臣承宗，星馳通州料理，敕書隨後補給。」夜宿重關，質明始聞。後命具揭，遵旨即行。次日，抵通州。總兵楊國棟以軍禮見，承宗受之，曰：「吾以安眾也，通州兩城保鎮京營，兵馬相半。」命國棟兼統之。時袁崇煥被逮，關寧兵馬盡潰，承宗密調馬世龍撫諭之，又為祖大壽別白，上命移駐關門。十二月十四日抵關，人心乃定。大壽謁見，令所統騎步三萬於教場行誓師禮，遣死士沿海入報，中朝始知關寧無恙。時因崇煥潰兵梗塞道路。 |
