《第三卷起四月，盡五月》

癸丑，贈吐蕃弔祭使工部侍郎兼御史大夫史館修撰張薦禮部尚書。薦字孝舉，代居深州之陸澤。祖文成，博學工文詞，性好詼諧，七登文學科。薦聰明強記，歷代史傳，無不貫通，為太師顏真卿所稱賞，遂知名。大歷中，浙西觀察表薦之，授左司禦率府兵曹參軍，兼史館修撰。貞元初，為太常博士。四年，迴紇求和親，使送咸安公主入迴紇，以薦為判官，改授殿中侍御史，累遷諫議大夫。十一年冊迴紇可汗，薦以祕書少監持節為使。還久之，遷祕書監。二十年，吐蕃贊普死，以薦為工部侍郎兼御史大夫，持節弔贈。卒於赤嶺東紇辟驛。吐蕃傳歸其柩。前後三使異國，自始命至卒，常兼史職。在史館二十年，著《宰輔傳略》、《五服圖記》、《寓居錄》、《靈怪集》等。
