20  | 甲寅，司馬光》初讀《資治通鑑》。案：《紀事本末》卷五十三《經筵》條下，又《編修通鑒》條下同。 上親製《序》面賜光，賜名《資治通鑒》，令候書成日寫入，又賜潁邸舊書二千四百二卷。《紀事本末》卷五十三。原注：賜舊書不在此時，今從帝學並書之。新紀書賜翰林學士司馬光《資治通鑒序》，此固當時書也，冬十月初開經筵。案：《宋史·本紀》：己酉，初御邇英殿，詔侍臣講讀經史。《玉海》卷四十七：治平四年己酉十月，初御邇英。甲寅二十三日，初進讀，賜名《資治通鑒》。神宗親製《序》面賜光。序略曰：「此亦古人述作造端立意之所繇也。其所載明君、良臣，切磨治道，議論之精語，德刑之善制，天人相與之際，休咎庶徵之原，威福盛衰之本，規模利害之效，良將之方略，循吏之條教，斷以邪正，要於治忽，辭令淵厚之體，箴諫深切之義，良謂備焉。凡十六代，博而得其要，簡而周於事，是亦典刑之總會，冊讀之淵林矣。」《名臣言行錄》引《日錄》云：上自書《通鑒序》以授光，光受讀再拜。讀《三家為諸侯論》，上顧禹玉等稱美久之。 |
