| 9 | 雍泰，字世隆，陜西咸寜人。成化五年進士，授呉縣知縣。呉濵、湖湖漲，淪田千頃，作堤護田，民受其利，稱雍公堤。呉民有妾亡者，妾父訟其夫，宻殺之，匿尸湖中石下。泰訊其父曰：「匿石下，汝安得知之？此非汝女，必殺他人女，冀得賂也」。一考而服。召為監察御史，巡鹽兩淮，為都御史，巡撫宣府。叅將李稽不法，部下狀其惡具草，且聞稽跪堂下乞受責，圖自新。泰曰：「此軍法也」。縛下杖之。稽已，乃譛之。時相言官，遂以擅辱將官論之，遂罷。正徳二年，詔起副都御史，操江固辭，弗允。未幾，陞南京戶部尚書。時逆瑾用事，以泰鄉人，欲親用之，不應，遂斥去。而諸所甞薦之者，禹陽、靈寳皆獲罪。年八十卒。論曰：「雍公築堤利，呉人人至今道，公功不衰。蹤其所以懲弁士，可謂嚴而恕矣。卒為所中罷去，再罹瑾禍，并逮舉主，何其厄也！ |
