15  | 傅珪，字邦瑞，清苑人。成化二十三年進士，庶吉士，授編脩，陞左中允。正徳四年逆瑾惡，翰林不附，已矯旨大明。《會典》文訛舛，奪預脩者官，珪降脩撰。瑾敗，復中允，尋升禮部尚書。當是時，康陵好佛，自稱大慶法王，外廷顧聞之，無徵以諫。俄內批禮部畨僧請腴田千畆為大慶法王下院，乃書大慶法，王與聖旨等，珪佯不知者，執奏：「孰為大慶法？王者敢並至尊書，褻天子，壊祖宗法，大不敬」。詔勿問，田亦竟止。寵伶臧賢請改牙牌，珪曰：「優敢亂祖宗法」。臧又欲改教坊司印，珪曰：「優敢亂祖宗法」。皆格不行。時流賊亂，中原太監陸誾、總軍容徵久不捷，諸內臣又立監槍名，益出後曹內臣統軍。下廷議，眾莫敢先發。珪奮曰：「兵老民疲，賊日以熾，冒功者冗賞，僨事者漏罰，失將士心。今賊在郊圻，肺腑間，民囂然思亂，禍在宗社。旦夕吾輩死不贖，責諸公尚首鼠耶？」議罷，疏上，竟遣監鎗諸內臣。俄有旨令珪請致仕，珪即請致仕去。及卒，遺命無請塟祭。嘉靖元年，理守正文臣，贈太子少保，謚文毅。 論曰：文安崇正學闢異端，文毅抗言執奏，請罷監鎗，裁抑佞倖，可謂以道事君，不可則止者矣。 |
