| 5 | 崔恭，字克讓，廣宗人。正統元年進士。為戶部主事，出督延綏邊儲南陽，薦知萊州府。府庫故歲入漕海，布數萬，輙浥爛，破庫人家。恭請量留漕海布，餘並出為軍餉，不踰年布盡，歸守庫者八百家。十三年，萊、大旱蝗，捕蝗發賑，乞免下邑逋租。明年，敵擾京師，集兵數千，遣官部署勤王。在萊六年，吏畏民懐。景泰三年，升湖廣右布政使，盡革諸冗費。及和市苗賊侵武岡，督餉訓民兵剿賊，賊皆聴撫，公安監利，流民相殺。恭曰：「勿急急，且大變」，下令流民願附籍者聴否，且俟秋成遣歸。眾遂定。調左江西囊中，惟律比圖書，衣數襲。省有廣濟庫者庫，官吏乾沒五十萬，盡發其奸贓。行台韓雍竟法連坐，布政使失職，郡邑肅然。制為役法，調輕重任，一歲勞，得逸九年。天順二年，升右副都御史，巡撫蘇、松諸郡。會都督徐恭請浚儀真漕河，役夫六萬人，程工贍廩，民不告勞。又浚常鎮河，避江險。四年，鹽山薦為吏部左侍郎。成化五年代李秉為尚書，不久罷歸。九年起為南京吏部尚書。卒，贈太子少保，謚莊敏。恭寛平坦，易中無芥帶。好善惡惡，出於天性。臨事剛而不亢，柔而不褻。其在吏部，慎惜人材，奬拔後進。亷靖自居，人知嚴憚。 |
