156  | 宗臣字子相，興化人。嘉靖中，福建參議。值倭寇至，臣守西門，鄉氓褓負求入者幾萬人，臣戒門者內之。賊倏至，臣命善火具者百人，置要害，賊不為備，火具發，死者無算，遂潰去。後轉督學副使，卒于官，閩人立祠烏石山祀之。同時有胡廷蘭者，以督學僉事守東城，亦有開門活人功。《福建通志》 |
