129  | 姚鏌字英之，慈谿人。弘治六年進士，廣西提學僉事，轉福建副使。值山寇焚掠邵武之建寧，鎮巡使往視之。鏌籍被兵者萬餘家，瘡痍之民，賴以蘇息。事竣，署臬篆。汀州大帽山賊七千餘人攻武平，承檄往禦，集興、泉鄉兵赴救，賊聞風遁，迺參審形勢，集諸軍討之，賊餒甚，間道走江西。永定民有賴師智部五百人，出身御賊，所部多戰死，賊又陰襲其家，有司不能恤。由是師智擁兵自保，鏌曰：「壯士也。」撫而用之，師智請效死，諸軍倚為重。改督學使者，講求古禮，召諸生肄業，修閩中諸大儒書院，增其祀田，恤其後裔，斥林慄、顏木或之與祀于學。正德九年，吏部旌天下方面官十有五人，鏌與焉。升貴州按察使，轉福建右布政。凡輸錢穀，不責羨餘。終兵部尚書，總制陝西三邊。《閩書》 |
