89  | 孔鏞，字昭文，長洲人。景泰甲戌進士。始令都昌，以憂去改任連山。時邑為流賊所據，民皆竄徙。鏞既至，依州而居。告諭邑耆，招撫流散，賑以官廩，令墾廢田乏耕具者給之。天順六年，大軍征諸蠻峝，鏞率義兵為鄉導，首破賊巢。大軍繼之，始復縣境，遂遷縣於雞籠山城而守焉。尋創公署學校及壇祠舖舍，規制大備。撫諭猺衆，悉為齊民。疏井泉，通山徑，便民之政，無不周悉。以功擢知連州。成化二年陞高州知府。連人如失父母。先時高涼為西寇侵擾，土寇乘機蜂起。鏞躬擐甲胄，跋履山川，督率民兵，前後擒斬賊首四百七十餘名。顆被擄奪男婦四百五十二名口，設法招撫殘賊男婦九千七百一十四。名口民猺，畏威懷徳，境內綏輯。旋立社學于府門右，訓誨官民子弟之俊秀者，以城外木柵不固，命築土垣易之。尋陞廣東按察副使，賜璽書，仍守其地。嘗單騎入賊壘，賊皆錯愕，不敢害己。聞開誠慰諭，許以自新，咸感泣願降。于是劇盜梁定侯等並受招撫，處之內地，分地與耕，以備他盜。鏞部下有黎浩、林雄數人，皆有謀勇。而雄尤驍健，以戰死。鏞撫尸痛哭，一軍莫不感泣，故人樂為之用。在高四年，囹圄空虛，四民復業，而頑梗之風漸馴，盜賊衰息。及以憂去，軍民泣送，有出千里外者。累官至兵部侍郎。 |
