劉應節，字子和，濰人。嘉靖庚戌進士，授户部主事，歴井陘兵備副使，擢右僉都御史，巡撫遼東。隆慶元年，起撫河南，尋總督薊、遼、保定軍務。其奏罷永平、密雲、覇州采礦，建議積貯通漕，及大寧、薊門補兵備邊之䇿，皆經國大計也。惟請開膠莱河，計費百萬，議者爭駁之。萬歴初，進南京工部尚書，改刑部。㑹雲南参政羅汝芳奉表至京應節，出郭與談禪，被劾罷。卒，贈太子少保。
