王象乾字霽宇，新城人，陞慶辛未進士。初，令聞喜繼守保定，累官至兵部左侍郎，總督川、湖、貴州，代李化龍經理播州，討平砂溪、銅仁諸苗冦。陞右都御史、薊遼宣大總督、兵部尚書，弟象坤仕山西布政使，象恒兵部侍郎，象䝉監察御史，象晉，浙江布政使，象春郎中，極一時衣冠之盛，而亦俱有才名。趙世卿字象賢，歴城人，隆慶辛未進士。萬歴初，授南京兵部主事。張居正當國，世卿奏匡時五策，而極論言路當開，鄒元標等皆以建言逺竄，宜特發徳音放還，使天下曉然知聖天子無惡直言之意。居正欲重罪之，尚書王國光曰：「罪之，適成其名」。出為楚府左長史。居正死，累遷户部侍郎，疏請罷礦稅，言甚切直，帝優答之。西北水旱時，告世卿屢請減租發賑，復請捐內帑百萬佐軍用，不從，因連章求去，不許。至三十九年十月，乗柴車徑去，帝知亦不罪也。家居七年卒，贈太子少保。
