焦瑾字良玉，髙安人。自幼聰敏肯學，器識過人。父汝霖，永樂初，被薦上京，思念二親，怏怏成疾。瑾方弱冠在側，即慨然陳情，乞以身代。上矜其孝行卓異，賜允明年，授瑾濬縣稅課大使，通商利民，上官賢之，因委署縣事，遂得民心。秩滿，濬民相率詣闕保，陞濬縣知縣，措置有方，豪滑歛迹，民安其治。改知長洲，又改知贊。皇上以黃岩難治，特進瑾六品俸，即命往知黃岩。瑾惟以徳禮化人，以政刑禦暴，未幾，民化政成，境內翕然，有麥秀兩岐，孕生三男，虎不入境之異。景泰甲戌，入覲乞休，逾年，卒于家。柱史張公諫銘其墓曰：「事親以孝，事君以忠。出宰四邑，名播九重」。焦宏，字克明，葉縣人。永樂進士，累官戶部侍郎，為御史時，嘗按貴州平反疑獄，全活者數百人。及為布政小民咸被其澤。弟寛亦舉進士，歴官㕘政。
