夏尚忠字信卿，休寧人，唐歙州刺史元康裔。幼穎悟，端慤書過目不再讀。乾道初，對策廷中，極論忠孝之義，賜進士第，任將作監簿，遷大理丞、知泰州。海賊時發，民罹其害，尚忠率兵除之，海道肅清，復知處州，引年納禄，不允。轉召至，除國子博士，徙著作佐郎。越明年，稱疾致仕，卒夏珪字禹玉，錢塘人，寧宗朝，待詔賜金帶。善畫人物，醖釀墨色如傅粉之色，筆法蒼老墨，汁淋漓雪。景學范寛院，人中畫山水，自李唐以下無出其右者。子森，亦工山水。
