晁東吳字叔泰，翰林檢討瑮次子也。幼負竒，弱冠登進士，選翰林庶吉士，讀中秘書。操觚翰，雅道秦、漢，語恥與俗軌軒輊，尤善榻古書法，毎自心得偶。臨作趙松雪書，以散置卷中，明者莫能辨也。在館中相劘切，必曰強學慎行，宰相以下折節與交比之。黄叔度云：咸以為卿輔不足為而得。年二十三，當甲寅上書移疾歸，遂以其年冬困篤。父瑮手録其遺文，總四卷，墨蹟一卷，名之曰識痛録》。
