沈漢字宗海，吴江人，正徳庚辰進士，授刑科給事中，厯陞户科左給事中，以議大獄，下刑部獄二十餘日，放歸為民，後復原官。隆慶改元，詔録言事諸臣，贈太常寺少卿，享年六十八，有疏草行世沈教字敬敷，慈谿人，正徳甲戌進士，筮仕豐城知縣，以憂去，改桐城。沉毅有識，篤於愛民。桐故孔道，值宸濠之變，巨闗悍將駐兵江上，供億無算，教力為裁損，民忘其勞，擢御史，尋按雲南，㑹尋甸土酋安銓搆亂，武定土舍鳯，朝文應之，六詔震動，夙夜籌策，數月不解，●卒，以底定為光祿卿，陟副都御史，提督南京糧儲，致仕而卒。
