67  | 畢士安，字仁叟，雲中人。少好學，事繼母祝氏以孝聞。祝氏曰：「學必求良師友」。乃與如鄭，得楊璞、韓丕、劉錫為友，因為鄭人。舉進士，歴監察御史，遷考功員外郎。俄以本官知制誥，入翰林為學士。景德初，進叅知政事，入謝，真宗曰：「未也，行且相卿求與卿同進者誰可？」對曰：「冦凖兼資忠義，善斷大事，宰相才也」。真宗曰：「聞其好剛使氣，當藉卿宿德鎮之」。未閲月，與凖同拜平章事。會契丹兵窺天雄，真宗問策士安與凖條禦備狀，又合，議請幸澶淵，車駕至澶淵，和議遂定，乃按邊要，選良守將易置之，通互市，招流亡，廣儲蓄，未幾，趙德明亦欵塞內附，二方既定，中外畧安，量時制法，次第施行，復置直言極諫等科以取士。二年十月卒，贈太傅、中書令，諡文簡。士安端方沉雅，有清職，嘗謂人曰：「僕仕宦無赫赫譽，但力自規檢，庶幾寡過爾」。沒後，真宗悼甚，謂冦凖等曰：「畢士安飭躬眘行，有古人風」。王旦為相，面奏：「士安仕至輔相，而無田園居第，沒未終喪，家用已屈，宜有以周之」。真宗感歎，賜白金五千兩， |
