王章，字漢臣，武進人。崇禎元年進士。授諸暨知縣。少孤，母訓之嚴。及為令，祖帳歸少暮，母訶跪予杖，曰：「朝廷以百里授酒人乎！」章伏地不敢仰視。親友為力解，乃已。治諸暨有聲。甫半歲，以才調鄞縣。諸暨民與鄞民爭挽章，至相嘩。治鄞益有聲，數注上考。
