| 17 | 蔣信，字卿實，常德人。年十四，居喪毀瘠。與同郡冀元亨善，王守仁謫龍場，過其地，偕元亨事焉。嘉靖初，貢入京師，復師湛若水。若水為南祭酒，門下士多分教。至十一年，舉進士，累官四川水利僉事。卻播州土官賄，置妖道士於法。遷貴州提學副使。建書院二，廩群髦士其中。龍場故有守仁祠，為置祠田。坐擅離職守，除名。信初從守仁游時，未以良知教。後從若水游最久，學得之湛氏為多。信踐履篤實，不事虛談。湖南學者宗其教，稱之曰正學先生。卒年七十九。時宜興周衝，字道通，亦游王、湛之門。由舉人授高安訓導，至唐府紀善。嘗曰：「湛之體認天理，即王之致良知也。」與信集師說為《新泉問辨錄》。兩家門人各相非笑，衝為疏通其旨焉。 |
