蔡道憲，字元白，晉江人。崇禎十年進士。為長沙推官。地多盜，察豪民通盜者，把其罪而任之。盜方劫富家分財，收者已至。召富家還所失物，皆愕不知所自。惡少年閉戶謀為盜，啟戶，捕卒已坐其門，驚逸去。吉王府宗人恣為奸，道憲先治而後啟王。王召責之，抗聲曰：「今四海鼎沸，寇盜日滋。王不愛民，一旦鋌而走險，能獨與此曹保富貴乎？」王悟，謝遣之。
