44  | 七年正月，應期奏上，如世寧策，請於昭陽湖東改為運河。會河決，於廟道口三十餘里，乃別遣官浚趙皮寨，孫家渡，南、北溜溝以殺上流，隄武城迤西至沛縣南，以防北潰。會旱災修省，言者請罷新河之役，乃召應期還京，以工部侍郎潘希曾代。希曾抵官，言：「邇因趙皮寨開浚未通，疏孫家渡口以殺河勢，請敕河南巡撫潘塤督管河副使，刻期成功。」帝從其奏。希曾又言：「漕渠廟道口以下忽淤數十里者，由決河西來橫衝口上，並掣閘河之水東入昭陽湖，致閘水不南，而飛雲橋之水時復北漫故也。今宜於濟、沛間加築東堤，以遏入湖之路，更築西堤以防黃河之衝，則水不散緩，而廟道口可永無淤塞之虞。」帝亦從之。 |
