58  | 陳察，字元習，常熟人。弘治十五年進士。授南昌推官。正德初，擢南京御史。尋改北。劉瑾既誅，武宗猶日狎群小。察偕同官請務講學，節嗜欲，勤視朝，語甚切直。以養親歸。家居九年，始赴補。會帝將親征宸濠。察請無行，而亟下罪己詔。忤旨，奪俸一年。諭群臣更諫，必置極典。俄巡按雲南。助巡撫何孟春討定彌勒州，以功增秩。世宗即位，疏言金齒、騰衝地極邊徼，既統以巡撫總兵，又有監司守備分轄，無事鎮守中官。因劾太監劉玉、都督沐崧罪。詔並罷還。 |
