| 2 | 鄭岳，字汝華，莆田人。弘治六年進士。授戶部主事，改刑部主事。董天錫偕錦衣千戶張福決囚，福坐天錫上，岳言其非體。且言：「糾劾非鎮監職，而董讓行之。太常本禮部屬，而崔志端專之。內外效尤，益無忌憚」。忤旨，繫獄。尚書周經、侍郎許進等救，不聽。贖杖還職。尋進員外郎。許進督師大同，貴近惡其剛方，議代之。罷職總兵官趙褲謀起用，京軍屢出無功。岳言進不可代，褲不可用，京軍不可出。朝論韙之。 |
| 71 | 贊曰：鄭岳等居官，歷著風操。箴主闕，抑近幸，本末皆有可觀。斤斤奉職，所至以治辦聞，殆列卿之良歟！唐胄論安南，切於事理。歐陽鐸之均田賦，惠愛在民；令久於其任，幾與周忱比矣。 |
