梁志仁，南京人，保定侯铭之裔也。万历末年举于乡。崇祯六年授衡阳知县，调罗田。贼大扰湖广，志仁日夕儆备。罗汝才谓左右曰：「罗田城小易克，然梁君长者，吾不忍加兵。俟其去，当取之。」会邑豪江犹龙与贼通，志仁捕下狱。犹龙知必死，潜导汝才别校来攻。八年二月猝攻城。志仁急偕典史单思仁、教谕吴凤来、训导卢大受督民守御。城陷，志仁持长矛巷战，杀六贼。力屈被絷，抑使跪。骂曰：「我天子命官，肯屈膝贼辈邪！」贼怒，碎其支体，焚之。妻唐被逼，大骂，夺贼刀不得，口啮贼手，遂遇害。思仁等亦不屈死。汝才在英山，闻之，驰至罗田，斩其别校，曰：「奈何擅害长者！」以锦绣敛其夫妇尸。凤来，福建举人。大受，宝庆贡生。诏赠志仁蕲州知州，思仁罗田主簿，凤来国子助教，大受学录，荫子，祭葬有差。
