，字世昌，越州山陰人，擢進士甲科，補揚州觀察推官，改知平遙縣，通判晉州，歴知乾州、鳳翔、河東、陜西轉運使，召為樞宻直學士，出知天雄軍，仁宗特以御史中丞召，兼判流內銓，聲動京師。寶元二年，拜同知樞宻院事，改副使，凡內降恩多封還詔㫖，寢格不行，進同平章事，薦引賢能，阻抑僥倖，小人多不悅。出知兖州，慶厯七年，以太子少師致仕，自是屢召不起，封祁國公，卒年八十，諡正獻。新居感詠。
