207  | 湯斌，字孔伯，睢州人。康熙二十三年，由內閣學士擢江蘇巡撫。斌莅任初，悉屏供帳諸物，僚屬皆洗心供職。吳俗奢靡，裁之以禮。立嫁娶喪塟，定式申賽，㑹演劇博戲、拳勇掠販之禁，重農事以興本業，復社學以訓子弟，講孝經以敦人倫，表揚名宦以風厲來者，悉推誠感動，不徒條教虛文。又累疏陳吳民疾苦，㑹淮、揚水災，斌倡屬捐濟，毎口百日，給米五斗，令無流播。吳地、楞伽山五通神祠賽禱無虛日，斌取神像投之石湖，奏聞，永禁奉？ |
