76  | 方岳貢，字四長，穀城人。崇禎初，知松江府，明敏强記案牘，過目不忘，謝絶饋問，罷諸徵索，廉能之譽，騰於遠邇，郡東南瀕海，颶潮衝撃，漂沒田舍，岳貢相度，經營築石塘二十餘里以捍之彭長宜，字申伯，海鹽人。崇禎時，知上海縣，科條寛簡，而擿發若神。先是，縣巨室蒼頭乘變聚黨，劫主人索券，撫院以兵擒斬之，而修怨者告逋日益衆長，宜謂首惡既誅，宜停追攝，全活數百。家邑善逋賦，長宜徵收，悉省其羨入，其不如額者亦弗予，杖第，勸令再輸，民聞感悦，賦登逾他縣家，去治所二百里，月載酒米自給，雖汲水於河，猶與荷擔人傭直。 |
