六月甲午，王欽若罷。時欽若恩遇浸衰，人有言其受金者。會商州捕得道士譙文易蓄禁書，自言嘗出入欽若家，遂罷相，尋命判杭州。丁酉，以李允則知鎮州。允則在雄州十四年，治城壘不輟。詔詰之，允則奏曰：『初通好不即修治，它日頹圯，復安敢動?因此廢守備，臣恐敵性不可測也。』帝以為然。嘗燕軍中，而甲仗庫火，允則作樂行酒不輟。副使請救，不答。少頃火息，命悉瘞所焚物，密遣使持檄瀛州，以茗籠運器甲，不浹旬，兵數已完，人無知者。樞密院請劾不救火，上曰：『允則必有謂，姑詰之。』對曰：『兵械所藏，儆火甚嚴。方燕而燔，必姦人所為。舍燕救燔，事或不測。』一日，民有訴為被人毆傷而遁者，允則不治，與傷者錢二千。眾以為怯。逾月，幽州以其事來詰，答以無有。蓋他諜欲以毆人為質驗，比得報，以為妄，乃殺諜。戊戌，以寇準為中書侍郎兼吏部尚書、平章事，保信軍節度使丁謂為吏部尚書、參知政事。謂在中書事準謹甚，嘗會食，羹污準鬚，謂起，徐拂之。準笑曰：『參政國之大臣，乃為官長拂鬚邪?』謂甚愧之，由是傾誣始萌矣。
