丁巳寶祐五年正月丁亥朔，御大慶殿受朝賀。詔戒飭群臣：『凡可以疏瀹弊源、剔除蠹穴、興起天下之治者，其儀圖之武，副朕內修外攘之志。』以趙葵為少保、寧遠軍節度使、京湖宣撫大使、判江陵府兼夔路策應大使，進封衛國公；賈似道知樞密院事，仍因任；吳淵參知政事，李曾伯湖南安撫大使、知潭州。辛卯，天基節，御垂拱殿，群臣上壽。上曰：『吳淵奏斡腹支徑頗詳。』元鳳奏：『昨日準宣諭鹽井、鏵鐵山等險隘已札蒲擇之疾速措置。』乙巳，雷。丁未，上曰：『春令未深，雷已發聲。』元鳳奏：『此皆臣等燮調無補之咎。』上曰：『雷者，天之號令。自今號令之間加謹。』詔：『雷發非時，朕心惕然。考之《易》象，所當赦過宥罪。應諸郡有戾于罪者，非犯惡逆，自徒、流以下，並從減等行遣。內有囚禁淹延者，悉與斟酌，事事從恕疏決，監贓不及一千貫者蠲放。』戊申，上曰：『獄訟淹延，亦能上幹陰陽之和，宜速與疏決。』元鳳奏：『昨日恭睹御筆，考大《易》雷雨作解之象，舉行赦宥。仰見陛下敬天愛民之意。』己酉，御後殿引見，吏部奏舉改官四十三人。辛亥，以吳淵薨，輟視朝。
