二月庚子朔，詔：『知貢舉王暨等務柬實才，以副朕意。』臣寮言：『乞戒敕中外群臣，各守禮義廉恥之維，堅安靖恬退之節，有不安意者，奏劾以聞。』從之。臣寮奏：『今日士大夫學術之未純，皆基於岐道，法為二致。乞明示意嚮，以風在位，變易偏尚，即道以行法，遵法以為政，則學為有用之學，道為常行之道。』從之。庚戌，臣寮奏：『乞歲舉廉吏，申嚴保任之法。如犯奸贓，與之同罪，仍令監司、郡守覺察。』從之，辛酉，臣寮言：『近歲書尺干請苞苴之弊，宜加禁絕，以變薄習。』從之。甲子，侍講範楷進講《易?豐卦》。因奏云：『當豐盛之時，聖人於諸爻有壅蔽不明之憂。』上首肯良久，乃曰：『豐亨盛大之時，侈心易生，其後遂至徇情肆慾，窮奢極靡，如秦皇、漢武，禍亂將作而不自知，此不可不戒也。』侍讀喬行簡奏：『陛下之言及此，宗廟社稷之福。』上曰：『只要心有所主。』講、讀合辭稱贊曰：『聖學高明，此一語尤為切要。若心有所主，則一切不能惑矣。』辛巳，監進奏院楊夢信進對，奏論聖學，因及宸翰所書《中庸》『聰明睿知足以有臨』一章，一曰：『以其切於君德，故書之。』又奏縣宰催科之擾。上曰：『財賦自有常數。』夢信奏：『常數固定，只緣簿書不明，所以有弊。』上曰：『知縣在得人。』
