癸亥建隆四年是年改為乾德元年。是歲，荊南、湖廣平。唐國、吳越、漳泉奉正朔，蜀稱廣政二十六年，南漢天寶六年，北漢天會八年。正月庚申，以慕容延釗、李處耘討張文表。先是，盧懷忠使荊南，上謂曰：『江陵人情去就、山川向背，我盡欲知之。』懷忠使還，報曰：『高繼沖甲兵雖整，而控弦不過三萬；年穀雖登，而民困于暴斂。南通長沙，東距建康，西迫巴蜀，北奉朝廷。觀其形勢，蓋日不暇給，取之易耳。』于是上召宰相范質等謂曰：『江陵四分五裂之國，今假道出師，因而下之，蔑不濟矣。』壬戌，李處耘辭，上以成算授之。乙丑，幸造船務觀造戰船。
