夏四月壬辰，國子司業黃中賀金主生辰還。時金主亮再修汴京，以圖南牧。沈介為賀正旦使，先還不敢言。中歸，為上言：『彼國治汴京，役夫萬計，此必欲徙居以見迫，不可不早自為計。』時約和久，中外解弛，無戰守備。上聞，矍然曰：『但恐為離宮也。』中曰：『臣見其所營悉備，此不止為離宮。若南徙居汴，則壯士健馬，不數月可至淮上。惟陛下深圖之。』宰相沈該、湯思退聞之，詰中曰：『沈少監之歸屬耳，不聞此言，公安得為此也?』居數日，復往白，請以妄言即罪。思退怒，至以語侵中。時中書舍人洪遵亦請密為邊備，該等不聽。己亥，鎮江府火。辛丑，詔修臨安府至鎮江運河堰閘。壬寅，國子司業黃中守秘書少監。近例：使北還者，率得從官。宰相以中言敵有南牧意，惡之，故沈介遷吏部侍郎，而以中補其處。先是，武成王廟生芝草，武學博士朱熙載密為圖以獻。熙載，湯思退所薦也。於是宰相召長貳赴都堂，責之曰：『治世之瑞，抑而不奏，何耶?』祭酒周綰未及言，中指其圖謂曰：『治世何用此為?』綰退而歎曰：『惜不使通老為諫諍官也。』辛亥，宰執進呈祕書省正字王端朝請選縣令。先是，累詔監司、帥守舉按縣令功罪，雖間有發摘，而未聞特薦一二人者，蓋務專行法而無旌賞，使人歆艷，恐非勸功之道。乃詔縣令有政績者，委諸司同薦，不次陞擢，以風勵之。
