甲午至和元年春正月壬申，時京師大疫，令太醫進方，內出犀牛角二本，析而觀之，其一通天犀。內侍請留供帝服御，帝曰：『吾豈貴異物而殘百姓哉！』立命碎之。癸巳，都知王守忠為武信留後，他毋得援例。故事，宦官未有真為留後者。守忠疾，復求為節度使，宰相梁適曰：『宦官無除真刺史，況真節度使乎?』既卒，贈太尉、昭德節度使。
