二月乙丑，以西川轉運使、給事中沈義倫為戶部侍郎，充樞密副使。初，義倫隨軍入成都，獨居佛寺蔬食。偽蜀群臣有以珍異奇巧之物為獻者，皆卻之。東歸，篋中所有，纔圖書數卷而已。上嘗從容問曹彬以官吏善否，彬曰：『臣止監軍旅，至于采察官吏，非所職也。』固問之，唯薦義倫可任。上亦聞義倫清節過人，因擢用之。

壬申，權知貢舉盧多遜奏進士李肅等合格者十人。復詔參知政事薛居正于中書覆試，皆合格，乃賜及第。殿前都指揮使、義成節度使韓重贇罷軍職，出為彰德節度使。先是，有譖重贇私取親兵為腹心者，上怒，欲誅之，謀于趙普。普曰：『陛下必不自將親兵，須擇人付之。若重贇以讒誅，即人人懼罪，誰敢為陛下將者?』上怒猶未解，普開陳愈切。上納其言，止用重贇出鎮。重贇聞普救己，他日詣普稱謝，普拒弗見。
