十一月庚寅，詔：『蔡京告老乞骸，可五日一朝，次赴都堂治事。』初，童貫附京以進，既顯，浸與京異，就疾之。及貫兼宣撫河北，遂欲專北事，京愈不堪。是歲，貫又上其平燕策，京一日留身奏曰：『貫徒有虛名爾。伐國大事，安危繫之，陛下何以付貫?』上曰：『前日取青唐，豈非貫之功?』京對曰：『崇寧下青唐，初遣貫行，但若監軍爾。藉使臣，當今日亦不能為之，況伐敵國乎?』上意頗沮。京即劾貫前後壞邊事，章凡四上，而上乃議下除司空，令致仕而罷所領。貫大懼，因以其城西外圃與京西湖鄰墻流水相接為名，邀京子攸及鯈、翛同出城相見，議分定界。至，遂為攸置酒厚甚，以二犀帶遺攸，會攸力救解之，京議遂格。京實創起北伐事，嘗曰：『北事只我了得，他人為之必鑿脫。』及與貫爭權弗勝，遽有敵國不可伐之言，故上亦不信也。或曰：京未始有此言於上，特其子絛假託以欺世云。甲辰，冬至。後一夕，有大星如月，徐徐南行而落，光照人物，與月無異。
