庚寅大觀四年春正月庚子朔，中丞吳執中言：『邇來諸路以八行貢者，臣謂所貴乎士者，為其能學知先王之道，其為行不悖於義而已。以親病而割股，閭里小民時有能者，官有給賜，憫恤其愚有愛親之心。而至於毀傷支體，用是以恤之。士而為此，是不知孝之道矣。然頂刺血，非聖人之教；常誦佛書，豈儒者之事哉?救其兄之溺，恤其女之貧，皆不足以為異。伏願下之太學，俾長貳博士考以道義，別白是非，澄去冒濫。』從之。
