《武昌紀事》
43  | 二十六日，撫標目兵張麟甲自提督向榮大營賚書回城。巡撫常大淳，將來書交城上官弁紳耆傳閱，始確知向統大兵於十三日至李家橋，與賊轉戰，連獲勝仗，茲大營已駐卓刀泉矣。先是麟甲偕一目兵，奉令偵探，而賊於水陸諸要徑，皆置竹釘，既泅水偷渡，其人為竹釘中傷要害，旋死。麟甲四肢刺傷，比抵大營，血污衣褲，見者莫不壯而憫之。向來書言此人辛劬得力，可即超擢，以示鼓勵。巡撫常大淳、提督雙福，各賞銀百兩，立授把總，予硨磲頂戴。竟日陰雨，一鼓餘，雨益甚。賊來攻城，城上木石炮火迸發，賊攻愈疾，忽然雷電交作，賊退。是日適交小寒，序屬殘冬，猛聞霹靂，人咸嗟異。雨勢聯綿，守陴者警呼徹夜，炮聲不絕。按察使瑞元，晝夜周巡城上，陰雨無月色時，巡察尤勤，遇守垛兵勇偶倦假寐，輒重責之。 |
