道光癸未八月初七日，宣宗幸萬壽山玉瀾堂，錫宴十五老臣，踵乾隆乙巳正月初六日千叟宴故事，賡歌繪圖。時與宴諸臣，以和碩儀親王為首，若御前大臣賽沖阿、大學士託津、大學士軍機大臣曹振鏞、大學士戴均元、大學士兩江總督孫玉庭、戶部尚書軍機大臣金鉞、禮部尚書穆克登額、工部尚書初彭齡、禮藩院尚書富俊、左都御史松筠、郡王銜都統哈迪爾、都統阿那保、致仕大學士伯麟、致仕都統穆克登布，皆黃髮番番，躬逢嘉會。宣宗嘗賦七言古詩以紀其事。

道光戊子，平回疆張格爾之亂，特詔繪軍機大臣曹振鏞以下四人、功臣長齡以下四十人像於紫光閣，像各有贊，踵乾隆故事也。

新進士殿試用大卷，朝考用白摺，閱卷者偏重楷法，乃置文字而不問，一字之破體，一點之汙損，皆足以失翰林，此之流毒，實道光時大學士曹振鏞種之。振鏞在樞府，宣宗以閱疏太煩為苦，振鏞教以挑剔小過誤字加之嚴譴，則臣庶震懾，封事自稀，可不勞而治。宣宗納之。其後廷試亦專剔誤字，不復衡文。桎梏天下之人才，納諸無用之地，振鏞之罪也。
