1  | 湘潭王闓運，字壬秋。少孤，受教於其叔。不喜制舉文，嘗肄業長沙之城南書院。院長陳本欽專事帖括，有龍友夔者，熟精《四書》匯參之學，陳聘之，使助校課藝。或聚談講論，龍來，則莫敢先發言。龍之長子皡臣及武岡鄧彌之、保之皆在，李篁仙亦從其外兄丁果臣居院齋。篁仙早入學，補廩膳生，皡臣亦舉道光丙午鄉試，下第還，侍父居內齋，皆謹飭。壬秋獨跅弛好大言，篁仙放誕自喜，壬秋與相得，日夕過從。皆喜為詩篇，彌之尤工五言，每有作，皆五言，不取宋唐歌行近體，故號為學古。其時，人不知古詩派別，見五言，則號為漢魏。故篁仙以當時酬唱多，自標為「湘中五子」，後以告曾文正，羅忠節公澤南睡中聞之，驚問曰：「有《近思錄》耶？」時道學未衰，故惡五子名。 |
