2  | 二十日，焚正陽門民居四千餘家，延及城闕，三日不滅，乃召大學士、六部九卿入議。吏都侍郎許景澄言；「使館苟有不測，未知宗社生靈置於何地？」太常寺卿袁昶言：「衅不可開。」慷慨歔欷，聲震殿瓦，孝欽后目攝之。太常寺少卿張亨嘉言：「拳不可恃。」倉場侍郎長萃在亨嘉後大聲曰：「此義民也！」載漪、載濂等和之，並謂人心不可失。德宗曰：「人心何足恃？徒益亂耳！朝鮮之役創鉅痛深，諸國之強，十倍於日本，協以謀我，何以禦之？」載漪言：「董福祥善戰，勦回有功。以禦洋人，當無敵。」孝欽曰：「福祥驕，難用。洋人器利而兵精，非回比。」翰林院侍講學士朱祖謀亦言福祥無賴。載漪語不遜，孝欽嘿然，廷臣皆出。而載漪、剛毅遂合疏，言義民可恃，其術甚神，可以報仇雪恥。是日，遣那桐、許景澄往楊村，說洋兵，令無入，遇拳，劫之歸，景澄幾死。洋兵援使館者，亦以人少，不得達，至落垡而還。 |
