89  | 萬潮，字汝信，進賢人。嘉靖間，為廣西左布政，整肅有度。諸郡縣遣輸金至，令各操金，以次當前，執法馬自較，報曰：「已如數」。乃目司庫覆視，亡異，即給批遣之去。吏白批過期，久請治，潮曰：「此中山徑水道恒苦，諸蠻朝嵐暮靄，是生瘴癘，安知来者不以此中沮乎？但所輸不虧足矣」。潮禁司庫，官吏勿得輒離庫，時遣視，違必撻治之，吏卒惰嫚，一裁以法。遭喪去，右使夏邦謨代行，藩事悉循潮法。或曰：「盍少寛邦？」謨曰：「財幣之府，何可不慎？吾見萬公寛，非嚴也」。竟遵之，卒與萬公齊名。 |
