19  | 壬辰，王安石薦呂惠卿為太子中允、崇政殿說書。司馬光諫曰「惠卿憸巧，非佳士。使王安石負謗於中外者，皆其所為也」帝言「安石不好官職，自奉甚薄，可謂賢者」光曰「安石誠賢，但性不曉事而愎，此其所短也。又不當信任呂惠卿，惠卿真奸邪，而為安石謀主，安石為之力行，故天下并指為奸邪也。近者進擢不次，大不厭眾心」帝曰「惠卿進對明辨，亦似美才」光對曰「惠卿誠文學辨慧，然用心不正，願陛下徐察之。江充、李訓若無才，何以動人主」帝默然。光又貽書安石曰「諂諛之士於公今日誠有順適之快。一旦失勢，將必賣公自售矣」安石不悅。 |
