47  | 丙寅，以文天祥為江西安撫副使，知贛州。勤王詔至贛，天祥捧之涕泣，發郡中豪傑，并結溪洞山蠻，有眾萬人，遂入衛。其友止之曰「今元兵三道鼓行，破郊畿，薄內地，君以烏合萬餘赴之，是何異驅群羊而摶猛虎」天祥曰「吾亦知其然也，第國家養育臣庶三百餘年，一旦有急，徵天下兵，無一人一騎入關者。吾深恨於此，故不自量力，而以身徇之，庶天下忠臣義士，將有聞風而起。義勝者謀立，人眾者功濟，如此，則社稷猶可保也」天祥性豪華，平生自奉甚厚，聲妓滿前。至是，痛自抑損，盡以家資為軍費。每與賓客僚佐語及時事，輒撫幾曰「樂人之樂者憂人之憂，食人之食者死人之事」聞者為之感動。 |
