舊本題宋劉筠撰。筠字子儀，大名人。咸平元年進士。累擢司諫，知制誥，翰林學士承旨。進龍圖閣學士，加禮部侍郎。是編載曹溶《學海類編》中。今考其文，即《冊府元龜》刑法一門之總敘也。

國朝譚瑄撰。瑄字子羽，嘉興人。康熙乙酉舉人。官至給事中。是書敘宋、元、明三代刑法，舛略殊甚。其曰《續刑法敘略》者，以曹溶《學海類編》取《冊府元龜》中敘文偽題為劉筠《刑法敘略》也。然筠書既偽，續者可知。又不知掇何類書數頁，贗題此名耳。
