1  | 國朝兵部尚書、直隸總督李衛等監修。自元以來，如《析津志》諸書，所紀只及於京師。至明代以畿內之地直隸六部，與諸省州縣各統於布政司者，體例不侔，故諸省皆有《通志》，而直隸獨闕。本朝定鼎京師，特置直隸巡撫，以專統轄。康熙十一年大學士衛周祚奏令天下郡縣，分輯志書，詔允其請。於是直隸巡撫于成龍、格爾古德等始創為之，屬翰林院侍講郭棻董其事。僅數月而書成，討論未為詳確。雍正七年，世宗憲皇帝命天下重修《通志》，上諸史館，以備《一統志》之採擇。督臣唐執玉祗奉明詔，乃延原任辰州府同知田易等，設局於蓮花池，搜羅纂集。其後劉於義及李衛相繼代領其事，至雍正十三年而書成。凡分三十一目，《人物》、《藝文》二門又各為子目。訂訛補闕，較舊志頗為完善云。 |
