1  | 明劉宗周撰。宗周有《周易古文鈔》，已著錄。是編凡聖學宗要一卷，載周子《太極圖說》，張子《東銘》、《西銘》，程子《識仁說》、《定性書》，朱子《中和說》，王守仁《良知問答》等篇，各為注釋。蓋本其友人劉去非《宋學宗源》一書而增益之，加以詮解，改為今名。《學言》三卷則宗周講學語錄，其門人姜希轍所刻也。宗周生於山陰，守其鄉先生之傳，故講學大旨，多淵源於王守仁。蓋目染耳濡，其來有漸。然明以來講姚江之學者，如王畿、周汝登、陶望齡、陶奭齡諸人，大抵高明之過，純涉禪機。奭齡講學白馬山，至全以佛氏因果為說，去守仁本旨益遠。宗周獨深鑒狂禪之弊，築証人書院，集同志講肄，務以誠意為主，而歸功於慎獨。其臨沒時，猶語門人曰：為學之要，一誠盡之，而主敬其功也云云。蓋為良知末流深砭痼疾，故其平生造詣，能盡得王學所長，而去其所短。卒之大節炳然，始終無玷，為一代人倫之表。雖祖紫陽而攻金溪者，亦斷不能以門戶之殊，並詆宗周也。知儒者立身之本末，惟其人，不惟其言矣。 |
