明姚文蔚編。文蔚字元素，錢塘人，萬歷壬辰進士，官至太僕寺卿。初，唐順之為《右編》，其書未完。劉曰寧補而輯之，尚多闕略。文蔚因取永樂中所修《名臣奏議》，拾其所遺。其門目則仍從《奏議》之舊，分四十二類，大抵皆習見之文。特於順之所不錄者，覆為掇拾，以成一編耳。***《古奏議》無卷數，兩江總督採進本

明姚文蔚撰。文蔚有《周易旁注會通》，已著錄。是編採史傳中先機應變之跡，自春秋至元季，匯為一書，分言、事、兵為三類。以省括名編，蓋取太甲若虞機張往，省括於度則釋之義。然兵亦事也，分類未允。間有論斷，亦未見特識，特書生好談作用者耳。
